Aluminum Alloys & Tempers
Aluminium 6061
A stronger structural alloy (about 310 MPa tensile) with good corrosion resistance and weldability, used where a pole needs extra strength or stiffness.
Billet
The solid cylindrical aluminum bar that is heated and pushed through a die to form extruded tubes and profiles.
- Aluminium 6005
- A medium-to-high-strength 6000-series alloy balancing strength and extrudability, used for sturdier poles and structural profiles.
- 7075 Aluminium
- A 7000-series alloy with very high strength (about 572 MPa) but lower corrosion resistance and harder extrusion and anodizing; rarely needed for poles.
- Temper (T5 / T6)
- The heat-treatment condition of an alloy. T5 is cooled and artificially aged after extrusion; T6 is solution heat-treated then aged for higher strength.

Tube & Pole Dimensions
Wandstärke
The thickness of the tube wall, commonly 0.8 to 1.5 mm for poles. It strongly affects strength and weight.
Wall thickness vs strength
For telescopic poles, wall thickness and diameter usually affect rigidity more than the alloy grade itself.
Abschnitte
The number of nesting tubes in a telescopic pole. More sections add reach but also add joints to lock and align.
- Outer diameter (OD)
- The external diameter of a pole tube. A larger OD increases rigidity and load capacity.
- Inner diameter (ID)
- The internal diameter of a tube. The gap between one section's OD and the next section's ID sets the telescoping fit.

- The length of a telescopic pole fully retracted. A shorter collapsed length improves carton and container packing density.
- Verlängerte Länge
- The maximum usable length when the pole is fully opened.
- Toleranz
- The allowed deviation in a dimension, for example plus or minus 0.05 mm. Tight tolerance gives a smooth slide without wobble.
- Geradheit
- How straight a tube runs along its length. Poor straightness causes binding and a visible bend.

An electrochemical process that grows a hard, corrosion-resistant oxide layer on aluminum, often colored. It is the standard finish for poles.

Blasting the surface with abrasive to create a uniform matte texture, often before anodizing.
Pulverbeschichtung
A dry paint finish applied electrostatically and baked on. It offers many colors but less abrasion resistance than anodizing on sliding poles.

- A thicker, harder anodized layer that adds extra wear and corrosion resistance.
- Coating thickness
- The anodize layer depth, measured in microns. Poles are commonly finished at 12 to 15 microns.
