Aluminum Pole Pricing & Cost Factors

There is no single price for a telescopic pole — the spec sets the cost. This guide breaks down the eight factors that drive a quote, how we price as a direct factory, and how to lower your landed cost. Poolpole (Xingyong), Huai'an, Jiangsu, China.

What Drives the Price

8 Factors Behind Every Pole Quote

Aluminum Alloy Grade Comparison 6061 6063 Billet certificate for Xingyong manufacturing compliance

Alloy Grade

6063 is the cost baseline; 6061 and 6005 add strength and price; 7075 is far pricier. Picking the right alloy for the job avoids overpaying.

Wall Thickness & Diameter

Thicker walls and larger diameters use more aluminum, raising unit price and weight. Right-sizing to the load keeps cost down.

Anodized Aluminum Telescopic Pole Sections with Precision Tube Fit and Locking Collar for OEM aluminum pole manufacturing

Length & Sections

More length and more telescoping sections mean more material, more locks, and more assembly labor per pole.

Flip Lock Extension Pole for OEM aluminum pole manufacturing

Lock Type

Flip / cam locks cost more than twist or push-button locks but hold heavier loads. The lock choice shifts both unit cost and perceived quality.

Surface Finish

Standard anodized colors are most economical; hard anodizing, special colors, brushing, or powder coating add cost.

Packaging

Bulk export cartons are cheapest; retail-ready clamshells, color boxes, barcodes, and inserts add cost but enable shelf sales.

Order Volume & MOQ

Higher volume lowers the unit price, and collapsed length plus carton size drive container fill and per-unit freight.

Tooling

Custom profiles may carry a one-time die / tooling charge, often creditable against larger or repeat orders.

Lower Your Landed Cost

Spec Smart, Not Just Cheap

The lowest unit price is not always the lowest landed cost. A few choices move the needle most:
  • Right-size alloy and wall thickness to the real load
  • Use standard anodized finishes over special colors
  • Optimize collapsed length for 20ft / 40HQ container fill
  • Consolidate volume and SKUs into fewer shipments
We model these trade-offs during quoting. See our production capacity to understand what scales cost-effectively.
FAQ

Pricing Questions

How much does an aluminum telescopic pole cost? There is no single price. Unit cost depends on alloy, wall thickness, diameter, length, number of sections, lock type, finish, packaging, and order volume. Send your spec and target quantity and we return a firm quote within 24 hours.
What information do you need for an accurate quote?A drawing, CAD, or sample with OD, wall thickness, collapsed and extended length, lock type, finish, packaging, target quantity per SKU, destination port, and Incoterm. The more complete the RFQ, the firmer our first-reply price.
Is there a tooling or mold fee?Only for custom profiles that need a dedicated die. Where tooling applies we quote it separately and can often credit part or all of it against future or larger orders. Stock or lightly modified designs need no new tooling.
Do you offer direct factory pricing?Yes. We are a direct manufacturer, not a trading company, so there is no second markup. Buying from the factory also means faster engineering feedback and control of quality and lead time.
How can I lower my landed cost?Right-size the alloy and wall thickness to the real load, use standard anodized finishes, optimize collapsed length for container fill, and consolidate volume. We help model these trade-offs during quoting.
