2. Build Protection in Layers
A reliable pack usually combines several simple protection layers. Each layer has a distinct job.
Surface protection
A sleeve, bag, paper wrap or other approved separator prevents direct contact between finished aluminum tubes. The material should cover the areas most likely to rub while avoiding residue or moisture entrapment that could affect appearance.
End and component protection
Locks, threaded tips, clips and connectors need clearance from the carton wall. End pads, partitions or shaped supports can keep an impact from transferring directly into a projecting component. Loose accessories should be sealed and restrained rather than left to move beside the pole.
Movement control
Void space allows products to accelerate before striking the carton. Internal partitions, bundled groups, fitted inserts or other restraints should limit longitudinal and side-to-side movement without creating point pressure on the tubes.
Outer-carton protection
The carton must suit the packed weight, length, stacking plan and expected handling. Board grade, flute, joint construction and closure are selected for the actual pack. A longer carton also needs support along its span so it does not bend when lifted or stacked.
Pallet and load-unit protection
For consolidated freight, cartons can be aligned on a suitable pallet and restrained with wrap, straps, corner protection or other agreed materials. 3. Plan Carton Quantity, Dimensions and Weight Together
More poles per carton can reduce carton use and improve container utilization, but it also increases gross weight and the force carried by lower products. The best quantity per carton balances protection, manual handling, warehouse limits and freight efficiency.
Confirm these values using a physical packing sample:
- collapsed pole length and maximum component width;
- individual packed dimensions and weight;
