Precision Aluminum Tube Manufacturing for Telescopic Pole Systems

Telescopic pole performance starts with aluminum tube quality. Xingyong controls tube outer diameter, inner diameter, wall thickness, roundness, straightness, and surface finish to support stable multi-section telescopic pole systems for pool, cleaning, and OEM customers worldwide.

Precision Tube Decides Multi-Section Telescopic Performance

Anodized aluminum telescopic pole sections with precision tube fit and locking collar at Xingyong
A 3-section mastro telescópico has six tube-to-tube fits. If any tube drifts on diameter, wall thickness, or roundness, the pole rattles when extended, the lock slips under load, or the sections seize on retraction. Pool retailers' QA teams reject containers for exactly these symptoms. Xingyong's extrusion workshop holds OD, ID, wall thickness, roundness, straightness, and surface finish within tight bands across long lengths, batch after batch. That dimensional consistency is what lets a multi-section pole slide smoothly without rattle - and what keeps your repeat OEM orders identical to the first sample. See the upstream process on 7-step manufacturing or the downstream lock match on plastic lock matching.

Six Tube Dimensions We Control on Every Extrusion Run

Diâmetro externo (DE)

Tight OD tolerance band means the outer tube slides cleanly into the next section's mating ID without binding or excessive play. Verified caliper-checked at the die exit.

Inner Diameter (ID)

ID controls the receiving fit for the next tube section. Held to the same tolerance band as the OD it receives, so the joint slides without rattle or seize.

Espessura da parede

Uniform wall around the circumference resists denting and keeps weight on spec. Wall variation is the silent killer of telescopic feel - we keep it tight.

Roundness

Out-of-round tube cross section binds when rotated inside the next section. Roundness is verified on a circumference gauge before the tube leaves the press cool table.

Retidão

Long telescopic sections can bow during cooling. Our straightening line corrects bow and twist to spec - critical for poles longer than 1.5 m where bow compounds across sections.

Acabamento da superfície

Surface micro-roughness controls the friction coefficient between telescopic sections so locks bite properly. Pre-anodize sandblast tunes this band before the oxide layer goes on.

Measurement

How We Verify Every Tube Before It Ships

Dimensional verification is layered, not single-pass. Calipers and bore gauges check OD and ID at the press exit. Wall-thickness measurement happens before cut-to-length so any drift is caught against the original billet, not after machining. Roundness and straightness are checked on dedicated gauges. Composition of the source 6063/6061 billet is verified on an Oxford optical-emission spectrometer per ASTM B221 - so a tube that passes dimensional QC also passes material QC. See the full inspection scope on the quality assurance page or the per-batch retention policy on batch quality & traceability.

Fonte

From Billet to Tube - Where Precision Is Built In

Tube precision starts upstream of the press. We stock 6063 billet for most telescopic pole applications and 6061 for higher-load sections - 100% spectrometer-checked at incoming gate. Die quality is the next leverage point. We design and maintain extrusion dies in-house for our most-run profiles, so die wear is monitored against tube tolerance drift and corrected before yield drops. For custom profiles, we cut new dies under NDA. See custom spec tooling for the workflow and lead time.

Precision Aluminum Tube - FAQ

What tolerance can you hold on telescopic tube OD and wall thickness?Typical OD tolerance is ±0.05-0.10 mm on standard pool pole sections; wall thickness ±0.05 mm. Tighter bands are available for specialty multi-section poles - confirm with your DFM contact based on your locking mechanism's clearance requirement.
How do you ensure tube roundness?Roundness is checked on a circumference gauge after the tube leaves the press cool table. Out-of-round tubes are rejected at the press - they don't reach anodizing. For long-section poles we also re-check roundness post-anodize since the oxide layer can affect the final fit band.
What aluminum alloys do you stock for telescopic poles?6063-T5 / T6 for most tube applications (good extrudability and anodize response), 6061-T6 for higher-load handle and structural sections. Both arrive with mill certs and are 100% spectrometer-verified before they enter the press queue.
Can you straighten long telescopic tubes if they bow during cooling?Yes - dedicated straightening line for sections beyond 1.5 m. Straightness is held to spec before cut-to-length, so multi-section telescopic poles assemble true without field correction.
How does surface finish affect telescopic pole performance?Surface micro-roughness controls friction between mating tube sections. Too smooth - locks slip; too rough - the slide binds. We tune pre-anodize sandblast grit and dwell time to keep the friction coefficient in a tested band. See anodizing & surface finishes for full scope.
Do you provide mill certs and dimensional reports per tube batch?Yes. Mill cert per EN 10204 3.1 available on request; dimensional inspection report per batch covers OD, ID, wall, roundness, straightness summary. See batch quality & traceability.
