CNC Machining for Aluminum Telescopic Pole Tubes & Components

Poolpole's CNC workshop handles every machining step for aluminum telescopic poles in-house at our Jiangsu factory — sawing, drilling, slotting, tapping, milling, necking, and flaring at ±0.2 mm tolerance. Anodized tubes move from extrusion to assembly without leaving the building.

Scope

What We CNC-Machine for Pool Pole Brands

CNC precision drilling on anodized aluminum telescopic pole tube at Poolpole
Poolpole's CNC stations finish anodized aluminum tubes for telescopic pool poles: cutting tubes to telescopic-section length within ±0.2 mm, drilling lock-button and through-pin holes, slotting for cam locks, tapping for end caps, necking and flaring for inter-section nesting, and chamfering edges for safe pool-side handling. Beyond tubes, we machine in-house brackets, end fittings, connectors, and short extruded sections for OEM customers — see capabilities for the full machine list and OEM services for custom-part workflow.

CNC Machine Fleet — 6 Post-Processing Operations

CNC sawing for aluminum pool pole manufacturing at Poolpole Jiangsu factory

CNC Sawing / Cutting

Servo-fed saws cut anodized aluminum tubes to telescopic-section length within ±0.2 mm with inline deburr — protecting the inner-tube sliding fit.

CNC Drilling & Punching

Multi-spindle CNC drills place lock-button, rivet, and through-pin holes in the same fixturing pass to keep angular alignment under 0.5°.

CNC Milling

3-axis CNC mills shape brackets, end fittings, and custom connectors — handling short-run OEM parts directly from extruded stock.

CNC slotting for aluminum pool pole manufacturing at Poolpole Jiangsu factory

CNC Slotting

Side slots for cam locks are machined inline — width and length held to spec so the plastic locking cam engages with consistent feel.

CNC tapping for aluminum pool pole manufacturing at Poolpole Jiangsu factory

CNC Tapping

Tapped threads for end caps and accessory fittings are gauged after every batch to keep thread engagement within spec.

Necking & flaring for aluminum pool pole manufacturing at Poolpole Jiangsu factory

Necking & Flaring

Rotary neckers reduce tube ends; flaring machines expand mating ends — the joint slides without binding because OD and ID share the same tolerance band.

Quality

Tolerance Control & Standards Compliance

Every CNC operation closes its own quality gate before the part moves on. Cutting holds ±0.2 mm; drilling holds angular alignment under 0.5°; threads are gauged after every batch. Raw aluminum stock is composition-verified on an Oxford optical-emission spectrometer per ASTM B221 before it enters the CNC queue — so machining starts from known-good material. Finished components are sampled per AQL (TODO confirm level) with dimensional, surface, and fit checks before packing. Full inspection scope and equipment list on the quality assurance page.

CNC Machining for Aluminum Poles — FAQ

What aluminum alloys do you CNC machine?Mainly 6063 for telescopic pole tubes and 6061 for higher-load brackets and connectors. Both arrive with mill certs and are 100% spectrometer-checked at incoming inspection per ASTM B221 before they enter the CNC queue.
What tolerance can you hold on CNC-cut aluminum tubes?Standard cutting tolerance is ±0.2 mm on length and ±0.05 mm on OD finishing for telescopic-section fit. Drilled holes hold angular alignment under 0.5°. Tighter tolerances are available — confirm the spec with your DFM contact.
Can you machine OEM parts beyond telescopic poles?Yes. The CNC fleet handles brackets, end fittings, connectors, custom extruded sections, and small machined components. Send CAD or sample for DFM review — see OEM services for the input formats and IP policy.
How long does a CNC machining order take?First articles in 7-14 days after DFM sign-off; production lead time depends on volume and post-processing (anodizing batch grouping affects schedule). Confirm exact lead time with your sales contact.
Do you machine before or after anodizing? Both, depending on the spec. Most pool pole tubes are anodized first, then CNC-machined (so the lock-button hole edges expose bare aluminum — visible but matched to spec). For parts where every surface must be anodized, machining happens first and the part is sent through anodizing as a finished geometry.
What CAD file formats do you accept?STEP, IGES, DWG, DXF, PDF drawings, and physical samples. Our DFM team returns a manufacturability report — usually within 3-5 working days — flagging anything that would hurt yield or tooling cost before we quote.
